Remember the lunchroom in junior high, the sneaking suspicion or very real sensation that the cool kids at the other table were talking about you? Or maybe you were at the cool kids’ table, and you remember talking about the other kids. Either way, while it may not have seemed like it at the time, vulnerabilities were exposed on both sides of the equation.
Recent chatter on the dark web gives every indication that the junior high lunchroom is alive and well. A recent Inc42 report suggests that conversations recently uncovered by cybersecurity researchers pit Chinese hackers against Indian businesses and government networks. Indicators of compromise were shared, making the threats more imminent and heightening the sense of urgency all the way around.
It would be easy to write the whole thing off as a dispute between state actors and global targets outside of the U.S. After all, this is between China and India. Tomorrow’s another day, though, and the same theft, DDoS attacks, and malicious phishing campaigns will be making the rounds, crossing all ponds, and knocking on all doors. In the cybersecurity world, constant and creative vigilance is increasingly the name of the game. The ability to stay one step ahead of the bad guys gets tougher every day.
ICS has been staying ahead of the bad guys for quite a while now, building a team for an expanding portfolio of clients across private and public spaces, and delivering predictable results that exceed expectations. If you’d like to know more about how we do that, call us today. You can eat lunch at our table anytime.
