Remember the ultimate threat back in the day, that some action or inaction on your part would be written indelibly on your permanent record. That combined with the quicksand on Gilligan’s Island seemed almost too daunting to bear. As you grew up, though, you didn’t fear the transcripts as much as you once did, right? Well, recent reporting in ZDNet will give you all new cause for concern. Not only does every detail go on your permanent record, but that record has also been hacked for all the world to see. At least for some of the students, staff, and alumni at the University of York.
It should come as no surprise that the records could be stolen. Any and all digital files are vulnerable. The larger question, of course, is why someone would access them, and that’s a tough question. The simple answer might be because they can. Time will tell. But you might be making the same assumption about your own data and records, the ones that seem to be important to you and your business that hold little face value for anyone but you. Don’t make that mistake.
Take Hackers To School
Everything and everyone is vulnerable, and if you run the thought experiment out far enough, statistically speaking, everyone will get hacked sooner or later. Not a very promising outlook, granted, but that’s the reality. The goal is to mitigate your exposure and do the best you can do to keep the bad guys at bay.
ICS can help, so give us a call, before the bad guys steal your lunch money.
